The Ashtanga Yoga practiced in its correct sequential order, gradually leads the student to a healthy body and mind. The emphasis is on the sequencing and linking of the breath and movement which helps to develop concentration, heat, flexibility and strength. Each posture is a preparation for the next, developing the strength and balance required to move further into the practice.

This dynamic form of yoga was developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. According to the Parampara tradition (lineage or direct succession of the knowledge, from the teacher to the student), his teachings are being carried forth in their original method (« The Mysore Style ») by his grandson R. Sharath Jois the director of the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore (KPJAYI) and all over the world, by all his students who have been authorised to teach this form of yoga.

Flora incorporates the principle of Ahimsa (“non violence”) in her teaching and aims to carry on the Ashtanga tradition with a focus on alignment to build a safer and more comfortable practice . Her dynamic teaching is also largely based on the breathing, gazing(drishtis) and flowing asana practice of Ashtanga Yoga. However, she is determined to enthuse students of all levels, to cultivate the ability to be more aware and present in their yoga practice and to carry it throughout the day and into all aspects of their lives.space700x90
